He Stood Me Up!

Can you go through life without a no-show date?

Well, I waited until I became a full-fledge WO-MAN before being stood up and I must say it does not feel good.

But I must say that there were warning signs. He always seemed to play the role of "I am sooooooo busy."

I do not like men who act like there is so much going on in their life and I am standing around twiddling my thumbs.

But I liked this guy. Don't ask my why, but I did. Well, I was attracted to this guy. He was handsome and I liked his SWAG.

Soooo, we made plans, which were essentially around his schedule and low and behold when it was time, there was no phone call, no text, no e-mail, no smoke signal, NOTHING!

I kept thinking something must have happened. He will call -- something major happened.

After a few hours passed, nothing. I felt deflated, but I carried on like nothing had happened.

Eventually, I couldn't resist sending that scathing text. Well, it really wasn't scathing. I just said, "I am very disappointed!"

What I don't understand is why. Why make plans with someone and you have no intention of following through? It seems quite juvenile to me, but this fella is a grown arse man.

The experience caused me to go inward. I needed to reflect on even wanting to go on a date with a guy, who from the very beginning acted like he had better things to do than spend some time with me or even call me.

When I typed DISAPPOINTED, I really was.

Disappointed that someone didn't even think enough of me to call and say, "Hey, I'm not going to be able to make it."

Disappointed that someone didn't even think enough of his own Karma. What goes around, comes around.

Disappointed because I thought we were developing a friendship.

Disappointed because being stood up is something that should happen in your teen years.
