Giving Up On Finding Love

One of my gfs recently told me that she is ready to give up on finding love.

I pounce on her through the e-mail before she could type those words.

“No, you are not about to give up. What you are about to do is keep yourself open to the universe and know that God is preparing him for you and you are being prepared for him.”

And then I type that we are about to change our scenery.

Heck, there’s no need to keep going to the same ole places and doing the same ole things thinking that something is about be fresh and new. Nope, notta.

I tell her that we are going to go to a new Happy Hour that I’ve heard is a lot of fun and we are going to start doing some different things together.

She doesn’t know it, but she will after she reads this, but I’m thinking we should go on a ski trip to Tennessee in January.

It’s for couples and singles and when I got the e-mail from the Urban Professionals, I was thinking I need to do this.

It sounds like fun, fun, fun. I can’t ski and I've never been on skiing but it would be something I could check off on my bucket list.

Plus, I think that oftentimes women wait for Mr. Nice Guy to come. When I was going through my divorce, one of my ex-boyfriends told me that someone would come into my life when I least expected it.

And that’s sorta true. I didn’t really think that someone would find me, yeppers find moi, who has the majority of the character qualities I find essential.

Any who.

I’m getting ready make my gf a project. I love her so there’s no way that I will stand by and let her give up. She deserves love. She deserves someone to treat her like the queen she is.

So we have a few things on our list that we are about to do.

I’m gonna see if we can work out the logistics for this ski trip, make it to this fabulous Happy Hour at Whole Foods that I’ve heard about and she’s going to sign up for a dating Web site.

I had a short stint on a dating Web site and it was interesting and fun. I never laughed sooooo much in my life.

I met a bunch of clowns, idiots, fools, sex-hungry maniacs, but I also met a few good men, yep, yummy. :)

We may also have to go tailgating and to a few sporting events also. And I’m even thinking of a makeover -- maybe for both us.

Have you ever felt like giving up on finding love? Do you think that it is necessary to visit different places and possibly do different things to meet people?
