Happy Holidays! Time To Get Engaged

A lot of people will be getting engaged over the next couple of weeks.

There will be Christmas Eve engagements around family members; Christmas gifts that will really be engagement rings; New Year's Eve proposals that will include vows to spend the rest of eternity together.

Wonderful!

Over the years, I have actually loved to see co-workers coming in to work after HE popped the big question. And I like to hear how it was done, too. And of course, of course, I wanna see the goods. I wanna see the ring.

Some rings have been like wow! Some have been like WOW! And some have been like OH, WOW! LOLOLOLOL

And while it may sound like I think the ring is an indicator of anything like the love or even the success of the marriage -- I do not. But er uhhh, a nice ring is a nice ring is a nice ring. :)

I've even heard men say that they want to give their prospective wife something that represents him, soooo he saves and cuts back and works OT to make it happen. Nah, I don't think anybody needs to not pay their bills to buy a lovely ring.

But does the size of the diamond matter?

I am not a diamond chippy, chip, chip type of girl so if I couldn't have at least a carat stone, I'd say let me just rock a foxy band with an intricate design.

And you may be thinking, uggg, she is materialistic. Nope, I'm honest.

What are your thoughts about giving and receiving an engagement ring? Does the ring say anything about the guy? If the girl isn't happy with the ring, does it say something about her? It is the time of year to give gifts and most would say it's the thought that counts. Tell me what you think.
