Are You In A Relationship With A Turkey?

Have you heard of the Turkey Drop?

Well, it is when there is a break up over the Thanksgiving weekend.

It seems that this phenomenon is most popular among college students.

With college students, they realize that their new life and new friends and new potential boyfriends or girlfriends are more interesting and frankly, they just don’t want to put forth the effort any more in long-distance relationships.

While the phenomenon is big with college students, it’s also big in full-fledge adult relationships too.

Thanksgiving weekend is basically the last chance to dump someone before moving any further into the holiday season.

Wow!

When I think of it like that, I can actually understand why. Heck, who wants to be bothered with sooooo much negative energy that it jumps off of them and on to you.

They complain. They whine. They are never happy.

Ummm, yep, these type of peeps should be told to hit the road.

Sex and relationship columnist Dan Savage says:

“For grown-ups, it’s the anticipation of being stuck for three or four more months. You’re a cad if you break up around Christmas. And then there’s New Year’s — and you can’t dump somebody right around New Year’s. After that, if you don’t jump on it, is Valentine’s Day. God forbid if their birthday should fall somewhere between November and February — then you’re really stuck. Thanksgiving is really when you have to pull the trigger if you’re not willing to tough it out through February.”

Additionally, a reason is that Thanksgiving may be the first time that a person sees their significant other around their fam, sooooo it’s their natural habitat.

And ummm, they may find out some stuff that they didn’t know. Family may have mental illness running rampant or drunks galore. And for some guys, they may take a look at the pudgy mother and say thanks but no thanks. LOLOLOL

Have you ever broken up with someone during the holiday season or do you just hold on ‘til after the holidays? Tell me.
